I spent some time in Zürich last month, visiting my beloved partner, and even though autumn could already be felt, it was still nice exploring the city (whenever I was not just reading and drinking tea~).

Looking through the pictures I took, I realized though that it might not be a great, comprehensive documentation of all the sides Zürich has to offer — which is also not my goal, I guess. Anyways: a very selective little list of places!

Walking along the water within the (or really any) city is nice: especially the Limmat right before Zürichsee / Lake Zurich is great (but also way too crowded at peak times) but also a little canal / moat called Schanzengraben around the Old Botanical Garden.

Zürich did feel small as well, especially because we were living a bit outside the city boundaries, which made it quick to come into contact with the local cows and see some farmers at work.

Lake Zurich is really impressive, though, and birds are quite attracted to it (or the tourists around it feeding them, I guess), which makes it a marvellous spot for photos!

Another highlight right at the lake is also the Chinese Garden! It’s quite small but very enjoyable, impressive, and well cared for! Even though it was really colorful as well, especially with the autumn-colored leaves, I preferred to take black/white pictures.😔

As a last spot I can recommend Frau Gerolds Garten, a restaurant / beer garden / Christmas market kind of place! We had some lovely fondue and they had the winter season decorations out already, which made it quite cozy.
