… It’s very embarrassing, but during the Japan trip it was too time-consuming to gather all photos and craft a proper post… and WordPress not making it any easier with a very rough mobile editing experience. :{ Now my little Japan trip is already many weeks past and I still haven’t organized my pictures! But fingers crossed, that I will get into a habit and enjoy more of photography again.~
Kamakura is a little city by the sea, south of Tokyo. Apparently it was even Japan‘s inofficial capital (… a few hundred years ago…), though, so it certainly is highly relevant! Anyways, we took a little day trip there and first hiked through some forest along the Daibutsu trail. There is an incredible number of shrines and temples in the area, especially given that it’s a quite remote location.
First, the Engaku-ji, a buddhist temple complex:

Lastly, for the remainder of the trail, some more peaceful nature, a little dragon making sure you wash your hands, plus a (very) big buddha, which is by far the biggest attraction in the area, based on how many people were coming to see it.
But that was not all yet, Kamakura has even more to offer! A lovely, moody beach to enjoy the sunset at, surrounded by birds and young students! It’s apparently also a popular and established photo spot, especially for the little tram (… and the sunset, I guess).
